Meeting set to discuss Corn Carnival
RANDOLPH— TheRandolphChamber of Commerce is holding an open meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 29, to discuss the future of the Corn Carnival. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at the village hall,248 W. Stroud St.
The purpose of the meeting is to see if there is enough interest from groups and volunteers to continue holding the event.
The Randolph Kiwanis Club, which hosted the event for 49 years, disbanded in December. The club cancelled the 46th annual Corn Carnival in 2009, but community members and organizations stepped up to help plan and run it, turning it from a one day event into a four-day festival with a softball tournament.
